Europe’s largest independently owned insurance intermediary selects
PPM Studio as a governance solution for their Project Portfolio and Application
Lifecycle Management.
London, United Kingdom – May 25, 2010 SemanticSpace today announced
that Towergate Partnership Ltd, a UK based insurance intermediary has selected PPM
Studio to manage their end-to-end IT Project portfolio needs. With over 4,000 committed
staff based across 100 UK offices, Towergate offers over 200 specialist insurance
products, underpinned by strong relationships with some of the UK's leading insurance
companies.
Towergate’s CIO Mike Newman said "Towergate is a highly adaptive entrepreneurial
company. Managing an enormous rate of change across a large number of federated
businesses resulted in a growing need for a project management tool which could
help us to manage the IT projects portfolio. We wanted to provide both IT and our
businesses better visibility and management of all the work taking place."
Recognising the magnitude of this challenge Towergate IT embarked upon researching
several project portfolio management tools and suppliers to ensure that a suitably
collaborative project management solution could be accessible to, and integrated
within, its environment.
Towergate was looking for a Project Management tool that could integrate with their
existing systems like HRMS, Active Directory, SharePoint as well as various in-house
point solution systems such as requirements management.
Towergate’s Project Management Office set up a systematic ITT over a two month period
with several PPM solutions, culminating in a proof of concept. Mr. Shivaji Mukthavaram,
Vice President, Product Engineering at SemanticSpace Technologies added "It is heartening
to note that PPM Studio won the confidence of Towergate’s evaluation team following
this rigorous proof-of-concept exercise. We needed to be agile and flexible in coming
up with customised demos in line with the customer’s business process and requirements,
that includes custom configuration of workflows, organisation charts, Active Directory
integration, Outlook integration and collaboration with virtual delivery platforms
like Citrix."
Towergate is now able to connect with multiple software applications and in-house
built systems by simple SOA-based integration. It can support Application Life Cycle
Management (ALM) with business portfolios and provide matured management reporting
and real time dashboards for better visibility of IT projects.
The tool was deployed to Towergate’s live environment in February 2010 and they
continue to liaise with SemanticSpace in expanding the existing functionality. They
look forward to continuing to work together with the intention of using further
SemanticSpace tools such as the PPM Test Manager Application.
